Choosing The Right Jeweler

If you are seeking to buy diamond earrings online the list below provides you with a fine selection of jewelers from which to choose from. I have tried to provide as much information as possible so you can find the jeweler that suits your needs best. Some online jewelers offer a more personalized experience than others so please make sure you are prepared and know what you are looking for before taking the plunge. Buying diamonds, whether in earrings, studs, or otherwise, requires some understanding of diamond terminology, so get acquainted with diamonds first. Understanding the 4C's is an absolute must, and then understanding the main differences between shopping for a diamond ring and diamond earrings/studs. I recommend reading through Ritani's diamond stud buying guide as they have some great tips on the topic.

I have selected the following online jewelers as they all rank high in customer service and quality of product. This list gives you quite a good selection of diamonds and settings. It's pretty vast so I am certain you should be able to find what you want. Each one of these jewelry retailers offers an intuitive user experience and all are very responsive to requests for help. I have included additional information on the selection criteria I employed when compiling this list if you would like to read further.

I have given Blue Nile five stars as it satisfies my criteria as an online diamond retailer that provides outstanding service.

Blue Nile is a great place to start your search for diamond earrings. Blue Nile has a large selection of diamond earrings along with a wide selections of loose diamonds and other types of jewelry. You can build your own diamond earrings by choosing your own diamonds. I am not alone in appreciating the fact that they Blue Nile has 360° images of the diamonds and you can check out the diamond certificates (diamond grading reports) right there alongside each of the stones' listings. Shopping for diamond earrings it's a good idea to already have an idea of what type of metal you want. This is just one of the variables you will have to make a decision about. You'll also have to choose the quality of the diamond. Blue Nile, as is the case with the majority of jewelers, lists GIA graded stones. Stones either come with a full grading report or if the stone is smaller (under 1 carat usually) it may be accompanied by a less detailed version called a diamond dossier. Blue Nile has pre-matched diamond pairs so you don't have to try and match two diamonds for your diamond earrings. The time from ordering to receipt is approximately 10 to 12 days.

About Blue Nile: Blue Nile is a leading online diamond and gemstone jewelry retailer. They were one of the first to offer an interactive way to buy diamonds, and diamond jewelry, including diamond earrings online. Prior to pioneers like Blue Nile it was thought that diamonds could not be successfully marketed online. Blue Nile however has proven otherwise and has some of the best diamond education and the highest quality standards in the industry. They are one of a few highly successful platforms offering wide range of diamonds and fine jewelry. Their prices are excellent and their service is reliable. With prices significantly below traditional retail keeps thousands and thousands of shoppers coming back to Blue Nile for more.

You can buy through the Blue Nile website which can be accessed on any device or at one of its Webrooms in half a dozen locations in the US. Blue Nile also offers sales over the phone if you are so inclined. Please check out my longer article on Blue Nile here: Blue Nile Review.

I have given James Allen five stars as it satisfies my criteria as an online diamond retailer that provides outstanding service.

James Allen is becoming a household name for diamonds and fine jewelry so it would be remiss of me to not include them in this list. It's definitely one of the top sites for diamond earrings. Their live support is one of their great features. This was actually a big step for them when they first implemented it as they made sure to hire qualified staff that are trained in diamond essentials. I highly recommend raising their support staff on the live chat. Their service desk is fully trained and will help you choose some nice pieces whether it be diamond earrings or any other type of fine jewelry. James Allen has matching pairs of diamonds, saving you a great deal of hassle as you design your diamond studs. With both earth diamonds and lab diamonds there are plenty to choose from to suit all tastes. You can choose 14K White gold, 18K White gold, 14K Yellow gold, 18K Yellow gold, Platinum, and Rose gold for your settings. The time from ordering to receipt is approximately 10 to 12 days.

About James Allen: Founded in 2006 by a team of four this online retailer has become a major player in the diamond universe. James Allen's meticulous attention to detail coupled with a high priority on customer experience and service is why, at the time of writing, more than 150,000 happy couples are now owners of James Allen diamond rings. While James Allen has set the pace for the way diamonds should be sold online there are few competitors that can replicate James Allen's success. This is no doubt due to the fact that the founders' focus from the beginning was on customer experience. Read more about the amazing people who started James Allen and what you should know when shopping there in my James Allen Review. What immediately hooks visitors to the site is the user interface, which is highly intuitive and super easy to use. Refining your search couldn't be easier. You can specify color, clarity, cut and carat, and sort the results as you please. Every section has helpful information to help you understand what everything means. I have given Ritani five stars as it satisfies my criteria as an online jeweler that provides outstanding service.

Ritani was founded in 1999 by a family of jewelers. Initially a wholesale jewelry brand, Ritani launched its e-commerce website in October 2012. Their aim was to make it simpler to purchase high quality, handcrafted jewelry. Ritani's pieces are one-of-a-kind and made to order in New York by expert artisans. Ritani knows diamonds. And they share their extensive knowledge of jewelry with you so you can find the right diamonds for your studs, diamond hoops, pendants, or whatever piece you’re looking for.

Ritani has a unique business model in that they have partnered with stores in 180 locations across the US and Canada so that customers can preview a Ritani diamond in-store. However you do not need to use this option in order to buy from them. Ritani staff includes trained gemologists, so you are dealing with real professionals when talking to their sales staff. Ritani even has their own diamond cutting center, and the jewelry is all handcrafted in New York. They take pride in the high quality of their product, and with good reason. You will be well taken care of at Ritani.
