Actual Award Winning Design with Black Diamond

I was chatting with a friend of mine about the role diamonds played in history. Colored diamonds have been highly prized possessions and often fetch huge sums at auctions. My friend had never heard of black diamonds, and this gave me the idea to search for one which I would write about.

So many people I talk to about colored diamonds are surprised to hear that diamonds come in such a large variety of colors. Colored diamonds are referred to as Fancies. It’s a little confusing that Fancy is also the term used for any cut which is not a round brilliant cut. When someone is referring to the cut they will usually include the word “cut” as in “Fancy Cut” so you should not have too much trouble once you know that.

Famous black diamonds include the Black Orlov. The legend seems to follow a theme repeated often when dealing with diamond legends. This one goes like this: The Black Orlov, also known as the “Eye of Brahma” was an uncut black stone of 195 carats, pried out of the eye of the statute of the sacred Hindu God Brahma, from a temple in Southern India. In this case, though, unlike the legend of the Blue Hope, the story is likely to be true. The stolen diamond found its way to Russia, where it is believed to have been acquired by Princess Nadia Vyegin Orlov of Russia – hence its name. In 1932, the diamond found its way to the United States. It was purchased in 1947 by Charles F Winson who sold it to an unknown buyer in 1969 for USD300,000.

And the long history of the diamond reminds us of the longevity of diamonds and how they get taken from place to place, handed down through generations and are traded, bartered, smuggled, and awarded to friends and lovers.
I don’t have the Black Orlov to offer today, however I have an award winning ring design which features a genuine black diamond.
And when I say genuine, I mean G-E-N-U-I-N-E.
It is not an artificially made diamond. It is a natural black diamond.

So here is our

This is probably one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I’ve ever seen in my life. My fiancee proposed with this meaningful and gorgeous ring; I couldn’t be happier.

My beloved gave this to me as an engagement ring, and I LOVE it! We both love lotus flowers (and how they grow into magnificent beauty no matter what kind of water they are in; symbolize the spiritual path, pure love, and thriving in all conditions), and purple is my favorite color, so this is a really special ring. Gemvara has been amazing to work with. I’m most grateful!
